Question 1

Do I have to move out of my house during mold remediation?

Accepted Answer

Usually not. For contained projects in basements, attics, or isolated rooms, occupants can safely remain in the home. If remediation involves major HVAC ductwork or central living spaces, temporary relocation for several days may be recommended.

Question 2

Will the remediation crew throw away my personal possessions?

Accepted Answer

No items are discarded without homeowner authorization. Technicians catalog and review damaged contents with you, distinguishing between cleanable non-porous items and non-salvageable porous goods for insurance documentation.

Question 3

Why must commercial air scrubbers run continuously for several days?

Accepted Answer

Negative air machines and dehumidifiers must operate continuously to maintain required air pressure differentials, capture microscopic airborne spores released during demolition, and bring structural framing to safe dry moisture levels.
